Melanny Hernández R. (Caracas, 1981) is a Venezuelan journalist, translator, and writer. Italy is her mobile base camp, although she has also lived in Spain, Ireland, and France. To earn a living, she has painted boats in Rome, harvested potatoes in the Prealps, and milked goats in South Tyrol. She has published three books in Spanish and three stories in Italian, including Latinoamérica cabe en un autobús (Latin America Fits on a Bus). She has been searching for her Ithaca for years and, in the meantime, writes about what she finds along the way.
